O’Neill High School
Izabel 8th Grade Reporter
O’Neill, NE

Glamour, People, and STAR are all reports made by people to inform you about the things you may not know inside the life of the famous. But at O’Neill High we have reporters that inform you about our daily life in O’Neill high, we may not be famous but we have determination. Lots of things happen in our day-to-day life at our high school, plans change, things happen, we always have a different range.
Today Tuesday 15, 2015 the Junior High has a volleyball game 7th and 8th grade play both A and B.  We will be playing against Ord. The games will start with the 7th B at 5:30 tonight. We will then start off 8th grade the same way B plays first then A will play, 8th grade A will being playing the last game of the night. The games have been moved from the elementary to the high school tonight, so good luck and go eagles!
We have a junior varsity game last night for football, we came back with a win versus Crofton.  At football practice last night Riley Davis got injured, we all hope he can still play in our next football game. With loosing one game and winning one we still wont give up in any of our games this year or the years to come.  We are, the future football and volleyball players, of our school.
With sports at our school we also have very good education, we study hard although we can fit improvements in somewhere. In English we work on daily grammar practice every morning as a bell ringer, a bell ringer for those of you who don’t know are things we do in the morning as a practice like in volleyball we always start with a five minute run to warm us up. We identify parts of speech for every Monday we also have musical Monday where we write a journal entry on a topic that Mrs. Troester gives us or a topic that amuses you, or some thing that you just want to get off your mind and write about.  English is one of the hardest classes that you have to take in high school. English is a hard language to learn and even harder to understand.

“ English is kind of challenging but if you put your mind to it you understand it a lot better and easier.”- Mikyla Grenier

Sunset Beyond Compare

Sunset Beyond Compare:
By: Izabel

Ripples of the waves in my ears

The sun gleaming off the ocean as if they were mirrors

Smelling the bitter of the salt in the sea

Mixed with the prepossessing smell of roses and lilies

As you may smell but also can feel the nice calm ocean breeze

Nothing is ever at ease

This view is way better than any cities

The cotton colored clouds, the bubbly blue skies, and the deep blue of the ocean

The independence of the eagles flying above

Everything here makes you fall in love

The love is shown by each dove

The alluring sky draws you in as you gaze above

It could rain but the sky would make you a pluviophile

The peace of the place is shown by the dove
Nothing can make you not love.

Choose your own Adventure Story. (Izabel and Melody)

Our adventure story is a about a girl names Rainy who moved out in the country of the state of Nebraska, with her mom and brother. Her brother runs away because he wants to be alone, so rainy went to go look for him in the woods behind their new house. Rainy looks everywhere but you need to choose your own path throughout the story, which way should you go, will you go right or will you go left? You must choose!!!! We made our project on keynote, we have links on where you choose your path. Our project turned out pretty good, it seems realistic because something like this could happen in real life. I think our story is interesting and this project was really fun, although i am not the best with computers so that was a little bit of a struggle but it was really fun.

Inspiration- Bill Price

Izabel Kleinberg
Period 2

Topic: Bill Price (Mayor)

Do you ever like to be like someone successful? I would, and I have an inspiration to make me want to become successful. Success is milestone that is very important to me in my life. That’s all I have ever wanted to be is successful and that’s all my family wants me to be. There’s the certain way I want to live my life, The hard work I need to have to get there, and the inspiring words that people say that want me to keep moving on, and my inspiration has just that.

The life of being busy is not easy. The mayor, the person who makes up almost all of the decisions for our town, has a lot of pressure on him from day to day. When it comes down to it everything is in his hands and he has to take full responsibility for the things that go wrong and the things that go right. So do you wonder how the life of a mayor really is? Like most people Bill Price has a wonderful family that he loves with a wonderful wife, five children and two wonderful grandchildren. He also had wonderful adventures and he says and I quote “ The most interesting thing he has done in his life is bring our community into the 21st century!”  , and as Alvin Toffler said, “ The illiterate of the 21st century will not be who cannot read and write, but who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn. This message is so important to me because even if you cannot read or write you can do wonderful things in your life,  just as Bill Price did with his.

“Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard” – Unknown Bill Price didn’t just get where he was today by the talent that he had but the work that he gave into it. Bill Price did not have an easy life growing up, yet he still lived his dream. Nothing stopped him from being successful, that means nothing has to stop you from being successful. Bill Price states that “ Hard work pays off no matter who you are or what you have done, and I am living proof of that.”

Not only the person has to inspire you but the things that they say are very inspiring. There are just a few messages that Bill Price wants to get out there and I am willing to help him. The best advice that Bill has to give for kids in middle school and high school is that “Just to study hard and your choices have long term effects.” “When Bill hears about OHS he thinks about kids that have choose to have an education.”  Bill encourages us all to stay in school and get an education, because no matter who you are or what people think of you, you can be successful if you put your mind to it and work hard.

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts.”- Unknown.

English 7 NEW YORK

New York Report
Travel Destination

Times Square, Broadway, the Statue of Liberty. By now, you probably already know where I’m talking about. New York City. The Big Apple. The place where millions of people go to live their dreams. Things are so unique here even from the small things like general information to restaurants, or sites to see.
General information and interesting facts are just the basic reasons that New York is amazing. New York has so many people living there, 8.406 million people, which is the most populated city in the United States. They have plenty of room for everyone with 469mi2 in area. The people in NY may be there to be famous but NY has cool history itself it used to be called New Amsterdam. It also used to be the nation’s capital from 1789-1790.
Also there is the wonderful different kinds of food to eat and the places to eat at. There are different types of food from all around the world. With interesting names like E.A.T the bakery there that seats 140 people and has been opened since 1973. Also if you’re not into the sweet things then go to Famous Dave’s BBQ where they are serving foods from pork ribs, chicken, corn on the cob, and anything you can put on the grill. The most popular place to eat at is Foods of NY Tours where they walk around and make you feel at home while trying food from everywhere you could imagine. With the walking tour of the city and the amazing food there is thousands of people that go there in the past years and the years to come.
Last but not least, you can’t just go somewhere and not actually go somewhere. Enjoy what the sites have to offer. Central park is one of the many places, open to the public from 6:00 am- 1:00 am. This urban park has hundreds people visit each day. New Years eve is the time when New York is the busiest time of the year with the tradition of the ball drop. Liberty is shown in so many ways but the best is the statue of liberty of 305 feet of liberty showing from a tiny island near New York. This was the first statue ever made in New York, it began in September of 1875 and was finished in October 1886. Still has thousands of people visit it a year.
You won’t have one reason to be bored in New York. So go take a vacation, and have fun. From sites to see to places to eat or even interesting facts, I would love to go to New York, now I hope you do too!

December 8th

As I enter second period, which is English I am still a little tired. But as soon as Mrs. Morrow greeted us with a warm welcome I was little more excited for today’s English class. Mrs. Morrow then told us to get out our poetry folders for the day and to go to the warm up page, as we usually have been doing for the past couple weeks. We then wrote about what makes Nebraska beautiful, and what is and what does Nebraska mean to you?
:Photo on 12-8-14 at 8.35 PM.jpgWe then went and looked on the site and watched a couple video clips on what things are important in Nebraska to people around the world. Maybe it was our football team, our small towns, or beautiful land. We also watched a Rachel Price video that is called “Little Nebraska Town”. It describes how Rachel who is becoming viral every minute started off in this wonderful little Nebraska town, and this is the best moments that ever started.Macintosh HD:Users:izabelkleinberg:Desktop:Screen Shot 2014-12-09 at 10.47.21 PM.png
Mrs. Nordby then ended the wonderful English class with all of the assignments that need to be on your blog by tomorrow. You must not forgot any. They all will count as a grade, and will bring up your grade. Remember to finish strong the last couple weeks, the end of the quarter is near. :Photo on 12-8-14 at 9.10 AM.jpg
Wonderful English teachers: Mrs. Morrow and Mrs. Nordby for teaching us all we need to know for the future ahead.
Great Singer: Rachel Price for showing you can make it even if your from a little Nebraska town. Macintosh HD:Users:izabelkleinberg:Desktop:language extra stuff:images.jpegMacintosh HD:Users:izabelkleinberg:Desktop:Screen Shot 2014-12-09 at 10.47.33 PM.png
